Shrink polyethylene film in the form of a sleeve is widely used for industrial packaging. This type of film is a two-layer film in a roll. After placing the product inside between the layers of the roll, a special knife seals it and thereby cuts it off from the roll. The next step – passing through a thermal tunnel – ensures the shrinking of the film and crimping of the products.
The film is made from granules of high and low pressure. High-pressure polyethylene gives the film clearness, elasticity, softness, and an attractive appearance.
Low-pressure polyethylene film is less soft and clear but it is of higher strength. Therefore, depending on the tasks, high-pressure, low-pressure polyethylene, or a combination of them is used to produce the film.
